Carmen R. Sunico, PhD

Born and raised in Spain, Carmen had her first cultural exchange experience as an undergraduate student in Wales through the Socrates-Erasmus European exchange program. She enjoyed her time in the UK and returned to England as a doctoral student, ultimately obtaining her PhD in Medicine and Surgery. Her science career later brought her to Australia and eventually to sunny California, where she currently lives with her multicultural Spanish-Japanese family.

Carmen has always been passionate about meeting new people, establishing intercultural connections and helping others to improve their lives. In addition to her science career, she began volunteering with an au pair organization in 2015 to assist families and international au pairs in their cultural exchange experiences. From the beginning, Carmen envisioned a way to add icing to the cultural exchange cake with a worldwide network of like-minded people. So she created Travelmonth as a global platform to enable travelers and host families to establish connections, and to keep cultural exchange program participants interwoven as a global family. So that we can all continue enriching one another's lives forever.

His adventurous spirit took him to the United States as a graduate student, where he also played the cello in an orchestra and received training as an actor. Nobuki lived on both coasts working as a scientist, and took every opportunity to travel through Latin America, Europe and Asia, sometimes crossing a whole country by local bus ride.

Nobuki now lives with his multicultural family of four in California, where he composes fusion music on the piano, creates fusion cuisine in the kitchen, and enjoys hosting international travelers. With his analytical mind, he contributes to all aspects of Travelmonth.
